This will be short but I wanted to touch on something. Through the holidays I usually struggle more with my depression. Today, a thought came to me.
For each day I wake up alive, there is another day of victory behind me. What a way to look at it. If I were to calculate all the days in my life… I would have that many victories.
I battle anxiety and depression. One can easily trigger the other. It’s easy to focus on the dark days and dwell on the darkness. But if we find that silver lining and focus on the fact that you survived, that is something else.
Those with mental illness are warriors against an invisible enemy. One that lives within us and can easily be fueled by outside sources.
We are warriors and it is important to keep fighting and keep getting those victories, no matter how messy they may be.
